This stake sell seems to be related to reducing debt on Tata Sons to avoid Listing norms.
Dividend approach is always better. You have money available on company balance sheet which you might not need for same business. Take example of TCS. It is asset light business and doesn’t require lot of capital to grow so what wiil you achieve by keeping money on TCS balance sheet.

HCC faced resistance at its multi year resistance at 47-48 and is now in a corrective phase. Rally from 30-47 was very sharp in sync with the madness in small and midcap space. Rights issue has been talked about in the latest concall. Business wise they are doing most of the things they have been promising, but these kind of stocks will need strong market tailwinds to move up significantly, till the time the actual business transformation happens and growth returns.

3K cr debt is huge.
Company is paying 150Cr interest every quarter. Pref. share allocation only for pay interest. I think debt will remain same. I dont see it will be profitable in near future.
Power Finance Corporation Limited : Rare profit making PSU? (20-03-2024)
I felt Power Finance was a good buy especially as compared to IREDA. My stand was, when both are in the same sector,i.e., fianancing power companies, why rate IREDA so high.
Power Finance is however in a downward tailspin, having fallen from ₹469 in Feb to ₹363 yesterday.
Anybody tracking it? The fall is because, like all the PSUs, it had gone up rather fast, and is saner now, or some fundamental reasons?
