The whole idea is as follows –
Company’s valuations appear cheap
I have got inputs from friends ( informed ones ) about the promoter’s integrity ( otherwise, I would not have touched it )
If they keep performing and keep improving their disclosures, it can be a multi bagger (well – potentially)
As my personal confidence improves ( if the management is able to execute well ), I can avg up later
At present – its a tracking position ( about 1 pc of portfolio )
That’s about it

The main comfort is coming through valuations and further the major part of the provisioning has been done in first two quarters and in this quarter the provisioning will be minimum. The last quarter in general represents the highest growth which shall improve the existing NIM but will not be able to match the guided 3.5% for sure. Here the price of the rights issue keeps us comfortable.

Is it worth looking such businesses where so much related party transaction and where you already knew that you can’t make conviction here to buy a decent size or to hold when a price shoot up, don’t you think it is not worth the time that we are putting in?( In Marathon case- just for the sake that the Real Estate sector is in demand).
Disc- Discussing this not from buying or selling perspective, but trying to know in general.

To convert even 25 lakhs into 2 cores, let alone 4 crores, in 7 years, you will also need loads of luck. Someone, for whom 25 lakhs are pocket change, can take a lot of risk with that capital without losing sleep. For someone, whose life saving is 25 lakhs, risk management is only sensible strategy.
It’s easy to get emboldened by the stories of investors turning their 1 cores in 50 crores in 5 years, but one needs to watch out for survivorship bias. For every single such case there would be hundreds of adventurous but bankrupt investors that newspapers or YouTube won’t talk about.
Risk management is the only strategy that works in all context. Protect your capital at any cost and you will make good money in the long run. And while you are doing that manage both greed and fear, the biggest enemies of returns.
To quote Warren Buffett, “The first rule of an investment is don’t lose your money. And the second rule of an investment is don’t forget the first rule.”
GMM Pfaudler: A safe way to play the Pharma/Chemical cycle (15-03-2024)
Given the flat guidence for both FY-24 & 25.
It’s a simple guess that stock won’t do much for next 12 months, provided margin expansion happens in FY25.
Hope the PE re rating happens, since they have diversified the portfolio and has a leadership position in the segment.
Disclosure : Invested.

It will be challenging for the Bank to hit 1% ROA for FY24, unless there are record recoveries in this quarter.
