I think rather than taking management comments at absolute face value (promoters are very conservative), one must try to understand what is happening in the industry. Look at nos of Avanti vs its peers and there is a contrasting difference in the performance over the last 3 years. Most of the players despite being small have not grown and are working on wafer-thin margins or making losses. It’s rare to see a market leader having 45-50% market share continuing to maintain/grow its sales when the industry is in bad shape and other players are bleeding.

Interestingly after a gap of almost a year, Avanti recent commentary seems a bit positive.

I don’t see this as a risk, but rather a short term pain which most hospitals can adopt around (Especially Tier II / III city multi speciality hospitals who offer relatively cheaper services). That is, if it comes to pass at all.

Regulation is good. But regulation alone is not good enough. If GOI chooses to pass this rule, then it should also ensure that the entire Healthcare Delivery System is fine tuned to make healthcare more accessible. The easiest way I can think of and something which Dr. Nalla Palaniswamy has already spoken about, is building a strong network of cheap Medical Insurance. Of course, other infrastructure developments related to physically accessing hospitals is also equally important.

In my opinion, this is something KMCH can easily adopt around. If there’s any level of steep correction in the stock owing only to this “news”, I will be happy to add more at much lower levels.

Yes of course the group of star teachers will help them get more. I think they are this by searching for these people who are entrepreneurs (like to start their center under CL ) vs other internet start-ups who are giving them 1 CR to 3 CR salaries.

Yes now searching for what I call sitting ducks is not easy but if you look around there are options available. We are not mutual funds we need one or two ideas in the year or two years.
