In the October-December quarter (Q3) of FY24, Hindalco reported flat consolidated revenue year-on-year (Y-o-Y) at Rs 52,800 crore. Copper revenue rose due to higher shipments and better Average Selling Price (ASP). Revenue from the aluminium vertical and Novelis declined 3 per cent and 6 per cent Y-o-Y, respectively.

Largecap heavy funds back in reckoning (22-02-2024)
Net inflows into two of the ‘lower risk’ equity funds – largecaps and flexicaps – outpaced the flows into smallcap funds during January 2024 for the first time in 17 months. This is an indication that investors may now be shifting to the relatively safer largecap stocks after a sharp run up in the mid and smallcap spaces. Net inflows into large and flexicap funds were at Rs 3,730 crore last month against Rs 3,260 crore by smallcap schemes.

Karnataka HC refuses to stay Byju’s EGM on Feb 23 (21-02-2024)
Karnataka high court on Wednesday refused to stay an emergency shareholder meeting called by select investors of Think and Learn Pvt Ltd — the owner of Byju’s — to oust the company’s Founder and CEO Byju Raveendran and his family from the leadership in the edtech firm. Byju’s had approached the Karnataka HC seeking a stay on the EGM but the court only gave an interim relief that any resolution passed at the EGM on Friday cannot be implemented before the next court hearing. “It is further submitted that the conditions for convening the Extraordinary General Meeting (EGM) are not complied and no notice is issued as contemplated under Section 100 (3) of the Companies Act 2013,” the court order said.

Edtech major Byju’s top official on Wednesday said the company’s $200 million rights issue has been fully subscribed and asked all shareholders to participate in the “renewed mission”. VFS Global expects visa applications from India to surpass pre-pandemic levels in 2024 with the easing of appointment availability.
