Deepak’s portfolio requesting feed back (10-01-2024)
Raised 10% cash to be deployed later. Trimmed my holding across portfolio and also exited the small positions. I have this habit to book profits regularly. At times it worked out in my favor. There are always money making opportunities if you keep yourself a keen eye and a bit of luck works in your favor.
To reflect on the year 2023. I did enroll in Yoga classes in the first half of the year and its been the best investment I made in this year so far. Also nudged my wife to join the classes. She joined me in the later half of the year and she is even more committed than me lol. Ran couple of 10 km runs and not so keen on running these days.

Budget Speculation (10-01-2024)
The word “budget speculation” and sectoral growth prospect is exciting words to me.
But i can think of one way to relate budget & sectors. is there any historical trend/data ? does budget offer headway to specific sector ? for example…which sector got head way in last budget ?

Hi how do you manage your gains and loss.
We can sell new stocks which we just entered at some stop loss .
But if a stock has run up and we want to keep for long term . should we partially book profit and keep rest forever or is there a why to know when is the right time to exit
Amit Porfolio XIRR 25 % 9 years (10-01-2024)
Performance is not consistent. it is CAGR which will keep changing depending upon the mood of the market. I look at the profit growth of the company to measure my portfolio value rather than stock prices.
Buffet says you should not look at price first (Marketcap) as it distorts your mind but unfortunately, if you do screen that is the first thing that comes to you. The best option is if u heard about good business you pick up annual reports then try to value the company and then go to the screen to check.
Sizing: It has evolved I had 10 %, 5 %, and then 1 % bucket. But I generally stop at 15 %. I believe you should do at least 3 to 4 % because if the stock price climbs with my framework you will get stuck with a 1 % allocation. For the first five years don’t go over 3 % as you can make mistakes, learn, and become concentrated. My largest muli-baggers were all small allocations.
