Annapurna Swadisht Ltd – A Swadisht FMCG investment? (19-12-2023)
A quick answer without the arithmetic of FA:
The path is well established with ample opportunities. Right now, they are into snacks and fast food (newly introduced) categories:
- Western snacks – chips, rice puff based, cakes
- Indian snacks – namkeens
- Simple drinks – glucose based
- Noodles, biscuits
The potential options from here seems to be the following:
- Indian snacks – Increase the spectrum of namkeen offerings
- Indian sweets – Playing on the turf of Bikaji, Haldirams and Snactac (Reliance Retail)
- Indian pickles
- Different ethnic foods – Tomato ketchup (keeping it neutal since I do not know where it originated), Chinese foods – soya sauce, schezwan sauce etc., Mexican foods – salsa (big opportunity South America’s taste palette matches Indian taste palette), American – mayo, cheese blends, Italian – pasta etc.
- Daily consumables – Bread and buns via contract manufacturing
- Drinks – low-cost energy drinks on the lines of Varun Beverages’ Sting, fruit juices
See all this getting played out in Reliance Retail’s Snactac brand. BTW, I have not seen Reliance selling their products in small shops. It is exclusive to Jiomart and Reliance Retail.
Geographical distribution
Right now, they are primarily located in eastern India, and in the process of expanding into north and north-western states like UP (recently contracted Gopal Foods, Mathura to manufacture snacks for them), Delhi and parts of eastern Rajasthan (to keep distribution competitive). Thus, just from the geographical distribution perspective, the company presents an opportunity that is only going to grow bigger from here-on.
Management
- The management seems to be of high quality and so far, has walked the talk.
- Given their size, they are already having some names from the giants like Nestle, Parle, etc. on their payroll. That means the management has challenges to keep them engaged and are conscious about the quality of talent walking in the door. Also, not shying from hiring senior management from good companies shows they want to grow smoothly yet aggressively.

I guess debt free company can get to this valuation of 30k cr, else if you see Motilal Oswal is also trading much lower to its performance
Edelweiss Financial Services (19-12-2023)
While I agree with entry barrier but if you see developed market like US. Only the bigger gets bigger in this business and customer retention is 99% . So don’t you think if the market penetration from current 2-3% – 5-6% in this segment along with 4 trillion to 5 trillion economy makes this space more attractive.

Xpro India – getting bigger? (19-12-2023)
Xpro India Limited has proposed a capital raising plan for the approval of the Shareholders, which has been announced as required. In summary, the Company intends to raise upto Rs. 140 Crores through preferential issue of Convertible Warrants and upto Rs. 150 Crores through a Qualified Institutions Placement (QIP). The promoter group will also participate in the preferential issue, to signify their continuing commitment through their significant holding.
The key intent of the Board is to further strengthen the capital resource base of the Company in light of the growth plans that are in motion, and the underlying strategic vision of being a focused player of consequence in the dielectric BOPP film business in the global space, besides consolidating our domestic first-mover status.
The management is confident of being on track with the timelines for the expansions as detailed in the last Annual report, and as mentioned in subsequent releases. As a step towards enlarging our successful footprint in the industry’s global supply chain the Board has approved the setting up of a subsidiary in the United Arab Emirates.

You need to decide what kind of investor you are. What kind of analysis will you excel at. If its TA (technical analysis) then learn and practice TA. If FA (fundamental analysis) then do the same for FA. Or if you can learn and practice both, go for a combination of TA plus FA.
And finally avoid learning from YouTube. Because anyone can be a YouTube guru these days, and you don’t know their track records. While if I follow books written by a well known guy like Peter Lynch, or William O Neil, or other such luminaries, I know whom I am following because these kind of people have a long track record of well documented success.

Answer remains same as before. Its better to learn first and then attempt going full throttle. Bull markets induce big mistakes.
