Regarding your point on Valuation, it is still something I’m evolving in my head. I know methods like DCF exist, and I used to use them in the past, but just couldn’t find enough accuracy to proceed with them. What my thinking regarding valuation is: Based on the thinking that ‘prices will always return to mean in the long run’, I compare the current PE to the historical PE

Why 30? Nifty history PE for last 10 years has been around 22, so 30 is just a comfort number based on that. I’m not too strict about it though. I have invested in Indian Hotels which trades at a 70+ PE and historically has always done so.

As of 17th Oct 2024, I am clearly seeing a reverse Head and Shoulder pattern is getting formed. I am thinking that the markets may go down from here and maybe ~23K is a good support zone.

sir i guess you don’t got my point, i was saying that for Cholamandalam they have loan book at fixed rate so when interest rate decline then their cost of borrowing will decline (as they will offer lower interest on FDs and if they source fund from banks then it also be at less interest rate),but their interest income cost won’t decline because they have fixed cost loan book, so eventually their NIM will improve,that is was i was trying to convey.
Although what you are saying is absolutely right from customer’s point of view.Hope you will get it now.
