Most of the brokerage firms reported good numbers for this quarter.

Promoter is justifying son in law’s salary (marketing head) by saying his compensation is basis his last salary. But do these guys need such an expensive resources?
Prevest topline 50 cr, marketing head salary ~1.2 cr
Also 2% commission on incremental sales in domestic market. Commision to newly appointed marketing head inspite of such high salary?
It looks like the family is having a good time at the expense of shareholders.
They also look satisfied with the current performance (where QoQ topline declined) which is a sign of lack of ambition.
Time to scrutinize this thoroughly and take a decision to stay / exit post the current quarter results.
Also, I ran some background check on Mr. Vaibhav Munjal. Feedback from all three of the colleagues/reportees was negative.
In the last con call, he asked to repeat almost every question that was asked to him. Answers to those questions were also not satisfactory.
hellos ,
in simple terms I believe , debt is meant to put back in business so rational is to grow the business activity … however pledging can be for personal reasons & Neither management approval is needed Nor pledging needed to put in accounts .

Well, this is a first. Believe it or not, my September’s portfolio update got flagged here and the admin removed it. What could possibly be “inappropriate: offensive, abusive, hateful conduct or a violation of VPs community guidelines” about a portfolio update on my own portfolio thread?
I’m genuinely curious, as this beats be hollow.
Basically, im from a textiles background. And from experience, i can tell you that the way REDTAPE is going, i don’t think even 1000rs per share is expensive.
They are hitting all the right things.
Coming to the physical store discounts, yes, there are many products at 70 & 80% off. but i know what the cost price is of these products. They are selling a Tracksuit for Rs 900, whose Cost Price is 600.
They are using economies of scale and also products. where they dont offer discount have huge margins.
Slowly, they will take off this discount once people are used to their products.
They are building a VERY STICKY brand recall in my honest opinion.

Could someone please help me understand the differences between debt and pledge with regards to evaluating a company’s financials.
As far as I understand debt is generally raised to money to use in the business. This debt has an interest rate which is to be paid as per mutually agreed terms. The collateral in case of debt is generally assets which are hypothecated to the financing company.
I think maybe pledge is also a similar thing where the collateral is the promoter’s shareholding/ownership in the business.
It would be really helpful if some one could confirm whether this understanding is correct or not. And what are the scenarios where one is preferred over other.
Really Great Interview.
Lot of doubts were cleared in this interview.
