The BSE Sensex and NSE Nifty are likely to open flat with negative bias on Tuesday tracking SGX Nifty and Asian markets. At 8.26 am, SGX Nifty was down 1 point at 8,271.
Asian equities fell across the board on Tuesday after commodity prices languished in the wake of China growth woes and dampened risk sentiment, while the euro hovered near a 10-day low ahead of a European Central Bank meeting that could open the door for more monetary easing.
Hang Seng and Shanghai were down 0.51 per cent and 0.22 per cent at 22957 and 3,379, respectively. Nikkei was up 0.29 per cent at 18,183.
ACC, Bajaj Finserv, Bajaj Finance, Biocon, Can Fin Homes, DHFL and Everest Industries are some of the companies which may announce their September quarter earnings on Tuesday.
BPCL will also be in focus on Tuesday after Barclays cuts the oil marketing company’s stocks to “underweight’ from “overweight” citing re-rating may have gone too far.
Nestle India stocks will also be in focus after Karnataka and Gujarat lifted ban on manufacturing and sale of Nestle India’s popular instant food brand ‘Maggi noodles.
Back home, Sensex and Nifty gained 150.32 points and 36.90 points at 27,364.92 and 8,275.05, respectively, on Monday.
