Even so, IndiGo reported a negative net worth of Rs.139.38 crore as of 30 June.
The company, in its share sale prospectus, clarified that its shareholders’ funds declined from Rs.426.22 crore as of 31 March.
“This negative net worth reflects the 30 June 2015 payout of an interim dividend of Rs.1,207.08 crore for fiscal 2016, which was offset by profit after tax of Rs.640.43 crore in the three months ended 30 June 2015,” IndiGo said.
“If this financial position continues, it may make it more difficult or expensive for us to obtain future financing or meet our liquidity needs. Further, there can be no assurance that we will be able to achieve a positive net worth in the period going forward,” the airline added.
Mint could not immediately contact the airline for a comment.

The operator of top Indian airline IndiGo is looking to raise up to $510 million in its initial public offering (IPO), according to sources, betting on an improved financial outlook helped by lower oil prices and surging passenger growth.
That figure is higher than previously expected; bankers said in the summer that the company was expected to raise up to $400 million, but its valuations have since been bolstered after it reported a big rise in annual profits.

Quite a bad response for the IPO but went through only due to the Qualified Institutional buyers. I too didn't invest! However, I do feel CCD will do extremely well as it is the largest chain of restaurants in India with margins on the higher end. But I wasn't quite sure if the IPO was the right time to get into this. Maybe I will get a better opportunity later or maybe I will just keep waiting

Yes it looks cheap compared to other textile stock even if we ignore the future growth potential.

I like the company, the recent almost cashless acquisition will give immediate boost to EPS. 25-50% upside in short-term. Long term also should be good although the young chap running the company needs to prove the Birla brand name
