Sharing my analysis of Geodesic Ltd done in late 2012
Some time back I analyzed a listed firm called Geodesic, which if I recall correctly, once touched a valuation of $ 750 million. In mid 2012 I thought the shares seemed undervalued and I tried to understand its accounts.
I prepared a privately shared report concluding that about Rs 300 crores was irreconcilable from accounts and spoke to a few saying that it is likely to bounce its FCCB redemptions due in Jan 2013.
I thought I can share this report and hope it adds to the knowledge supplied above. The report was published on Nov 2012 when the price was around 60 and a follow-up on April 2013.
Please note that these reports are meant only for academic purposes.
Warm regards,

Fertiliser names – GSFC chambal (05-09-2015)
GSFC - One of the very few fundamentally sound and safe stocks. It is being dragged down due to market volatility and technical reasons. Therefore, it is more appropriate to analyse the price movement wrt technical.
For those who believe in slow investing / turtle investors, GSFC offers a very good opportunity to make 2x - 3x returns without much risk of loss.
As they say, one picture is worth more than a thousand words. So is the case with monthly price chart of GSFC. Saying anything more is just superfluous.
My Portfolio – Need Suggations from Value Members (05-09-2015)
@brajeshrawat Thanks a lot. I bought Vakrangee around 108. As per my analysis, 100 seems good price. I would add more in case it falls 100 or less.
I like La Opala RG. But reluctant to enter at current price. I did basic analysis on Sarla performance and found that it had Debt/Equity ratio 1.03. So it is debt driven. But I could see many of valuepickr portfolios have sarla performance. what is your take on its Debt?
@sajijohn Hi Saji - Since you invested in Orbit Export, what would be the good price to buy orbit export. I believe price we pay is important factor in value investing.
Thanks
VP Presentation at FLAME: June 27-28, 2015: Ayush & Donald (05-09-2015)
Donald,
Can't agree with you more on the approach to learning the art of analyzing a company. Identifying a high conviction stock, analyzing it thread bare will be like doing a Project Work ( like we did at school or college). I have been having this idea since long but, after reading your post, I plan to embark on one.
Lloyd Electric remains my high conviction pick. Invested from 33 levels. Now average price of holding is 90. Anyway, thanks a lot for your post. .....Mohan
Ramana’s portfolio (05-09-2015)
@ambore Hi Ramana - Your posts are impressive. It seems you are investing for many years. I would like to know how you derive management capabilities while doing your stock analysis.
I would also like to know from where you usually get data points for your analysis. Are they from reading companies annual reports or are they from some other sources like websites etc?
Appreciate if you can share your approach to shortlisting of stocks and their analysis from the initial stage by taking a one or two example. It would be helpful for me as well as ValuePickr members.
Thanks

What do the valuation multiples look like at CMP?
Ramana’s portfolio (05-09-2015)
Sold some Bajaj finance shares as part of portfolio rebalancing. Sitting on good amount of cash. Will wait for some more time before increasing exposure to stocks.
Looks like I did good by selling my major holdings in kaveri, mayor and astral 4 to 5 months before to enter real estate. There is a decent appreciation in real estate property from my entry price.
I strongly believe no market guru can pretict market changes accurately. It is our hard earned money, we can protect it only by thinking objectively and independently.
What you are buying in this major correction ? PF readjustment! (05-09-2015)
Hello people.
A good way to retrospect. I have a portfolio of 18 stocks and effectively no cash as of now. The thing is when the market cracks both stocks ( which we have to sell to get into cash and buy ones) go down. And it's a mental block selling at lows. However I hold astral which is currently at 70 pe which I feel is discounting revenue growths quite a few years down the line which hence I am planning to partially sell if not fully.
I will be looking to add to few of my existing holdings which include premco, Mt educare and cupid. To all these current holdings the bullish ness can be described in one sentence.
Premco: we will never stop wearing underwear even in recession
Mt educare: would have been a flop in any developed country, but in india parents will keep pushing kids for those magical grades
Cupid: better to safe than sorry. And what better way than for it to be decided by the fairer sex.
