Stovec Industries Ltd – Manufacturer of Textile Printing (24-09-2015)
Thank you Dheeraj for pointing out the other thread, I had searched for "Stovec" before starting this thread. Apologies for duplicate thread. Request admin to take appropriate action.
I am a bit skeptical on "Textile Industry revival", can you please help me with some data/ground report that says textile industry is on upswing? Pardon my skepticism.
Also I have few more questions, if you know answers any of them, please provide them.
- Who are Top 5 customers of Stovec?
- What is the price of say one Textile printing machine, one rotary screen, one sugar screen etc.? How does that compare with competition?
- What is the life of these parts (1 year? 2 years? 3 years? more?)? Does newer generation of products have better technology/better productivity than older parts? Do companies have motivation to move to newer parts?
I am trying to find answers to these questions. If you do, please share with us.
Thanks,
Rupesh
Duke Offshore – Hidden Gem? (24-09-2015)
Hi All,
The trade receivables as a percentage of revenue have gone up from 8.2% to 23.4%. What can be the reason for this?
The accountants have made a mistake while calculating the cash flow from operations- adjustments for trade and other receivables (See page 33 of the Annual Report’15). These must be subtracted and not added as the receivables have increased compared to the previous year. Can we overlook this mistake as a one off error?

Kaveri Seeds – Temporary thread for clarifications (24-09-2015)
What I understand is most of the seeds sold (>90% volumes) are BG II version which is "seems" to be patented by Monsanto and most news articles continue to talk only about BG I.
First post article - Copying some text from the news
Quote: Monsanto India’s CEO Shilpa Divekar Nirula says in "assessment less than five percent" of Bt cottonseed used in India has the off-patent gene. The rest is Bollgard II, which "offers a broader spectrum of control" as it has two insecticidal proteins. This ‘event’ was approved for commercial release in 2006. Currently, Mahyco-Monsanto is conducting trials on Bollgard III, which has a combination of three Bt genes, but the one immediately in the pipeline is a seed with both insect resistance (Bt) and herbicide tolerance.
"Labour and the availability of labour at specific times in the crop cycle is becoming increasingly challenging," says Nirula. Though wages rates have moderated of late and commodity prices have fallen, "they are trending upwards," she says. Earlier, weeding was done manually but "a lot of times we find farmers leaving weeds in the field."
Labour cost is the biggest component in the cost of cotton cultivation, according to the official national sample survey.
"We spend a lot on weeding and on spraying chemicals," says Rustam Jamaluddin Turak of village Selsura in Wardha district. "We have to pay Rs 300 a day. Earlier, I used to spray myself but I am 68 years old. I did not engage labourers but now I cannot manage it and my children do not like to work on the farm."
"We need technology that can deal with pests that curls the leaves, and kills weeds," says Jayantibhai Gajera of village Biliyara in Rajkot district. "I heard it is going to come," he adds.
But the attitude of state governments to agricultural biotechnology and private seeds is quite unhelpful. Instead of getting out of the way when not part of the solution, they have become part of the problem.
Stovec Industries Ltd – Manufacturer of Textile Printing (24-09-2015)
We have one thread with typo. I am enclosing link for your reference.
While I have investment in the company, the sector appears to be good with revival in fortune of textile division. The company has open offer by parent in 2006. Find enclosed details about parent till 2006 which I find useful:
The main raw material for company is Nickle which has been declining. The demand for printing machinery is expected to show around 15-20% due to revival in textile capex. With limited capex due to sufficient capacity, I see company well placed for next couple of years. My only concern is acquisition of Sugar business (Galvanic in my understanding as shown in segement wise financial).
Disclosure: Hold shares of the company and my view might be biased.

Although I didnt hear the Concall @chiragjain1976
Very happy to hear that USD current ac has been converted into cash, which was a major contentious issue for many.
The other was merger with KCL, which also if happens by Q2, could take out lots of overhang from the stock.
It seems Market has already started pricing two major developmentsin these as stock is rallying post con call details

Are you sure it's "Lamaze International"? Coz on googling, I get reference to a Not-for-profit organization dedicated to promoting Lamaze technique of childbirth!
Their website: http://www.lamazeinternational.org
They do have a small section in their website selling a few infant-care items. From the look of it, seems like infant garments would be a new section that they may be targeting. Having said that, it does not look like a regular 'corporate' company.
Okay, it's a "Lamaze" brand licensing agreement. Got it! Sounds good!
