38 NDA allies meet, PM Modi hails it as time-tested alliance
Leaders of 38 parties attended a meeting of the BJP-led NDA in New Delhi, where PM Narendra Modi stressed that the alliance seeks to further national progress and fulfil regional aspirations. The meeting marked the first of the NDA during the second term of the Modi government and is seen as a demonstration of strength by the ruling party amidst a mega opposition conclave in Bengaluru. BJP President J P Nadda, Shiv Sena leader and Maharashtra CM Eknath Shinde, former Tamil Nadu CM and AIADMK leader K Palaniswami and Nagaland CM Neiphiu Rio were also present.
