Assam police on alert over Manipur’s looted arms and ammunition
Assam Police have warned officials to keep an eye out for around 4000 weapons that were taken from security forces during recent ethnic violence in neighbouring Manipur. A senior Assam police officer reportedly said that all districts have been asked to remain vigilant to prevent arms being smuggled into Assam and ‘falling into the hands of miscreants or insurgents’.
