Congress has released its first list of 39 Lok Sabha candidates, including Rahul Gandhi from Wayanad in Kerala, AICC general secretary (organisation) KC Venugopal from Alappuzha, and former CM Bhupesh Baghel from Rajnandangaon in Chhattisgarh. The list features candidates from OBC-SC-ST minority segments and the general category, with many sitting MPs and a focus on Kerala. The formal decision on Gandhi contesting from Amethi will be taken later. The list also includes candidates from Karnataka, Meghalaya, Tripura, Nagaland, and Sikkim.
