Yes JV is 50%. But not sure about that revenue will add in PGEL books. In Concall also company told that group revenue will 4k cr. But PGEL 3400 cr.

Star Health & Allied Insurance Company – Leader In Retail Health (11-06-2024)
@SMondal15
Thanks for the acquisition data.
One question…Why Apollo Munich and Max Bupa got sold for 1.2 and 1.5 times it gross premium ? Then how can one assume that the current 2.5 times valuation for Start Health is fair valuation just because the market share is 30% which is also decreasing a bit recently?
PGINVIT impairment of investments in subsidiaries and book value (11-06-2024)
Strictly speaking, it does not matter what the valuation report states about its NAV. The returns from PGINVIT is obtained from its distribution and not from its NAV. The REPO rate of 6.5% looks like peaking since the last time it was above 6.5% was in 2015 (9 yrs ago). So even now, the pre-tax yield of 12% is significantly higher. When rates come down to nominal 5%, even if distribution comes down by 20%, still PGnvIT gives a 2% yield higher than other risk-free investments.
Protean EGov Technologies Ltd – A Play on the ONDC, Digital Policies (11-06-2024)
Was going through the company. This is a tricky one with no promoter holding (HDFC proved that it need not be a problem).
In any software services / product company, the most important thing I look for (beyond financials) is how employees feel. It tells how good the culture is and how they are able to retain talents.

Reading through the employee reviews, it appears that it is almost operating like a government office with no incentives to work, huge politics, lots of holidays and lack of motivation. This bad review is also evident in LinkedIn insights where the median employee tenure is just 2.6 years.
If anyone is attending next earnings call, this question should definitely be asked (will try my best myself).
I feel that this company is enjoying the moat because of it’s monopoly in the area of operation. Lack of founders and lack of competition could make it a slow mover. Need to see what transpires in annual report and coming quarters.

Maithan Alloys Ltd (10-06-2024)
The biggest investment they have made is in NSE 425crs. They have got 13,25,000 shares at the Rs. 3,207 a share. I think unlisted share price of nse is more than rs 5000 a share, which means the company has already made unrealized gain of 50%+ on this investment. If the management can deliver returns in excess of 15-20% on the cash they hold on balance sheet, I think investors still benefit because ultimately book value keeps on expanding. Yes, I agree to an extent doing investments at peak margins and peak valuation is quite risky, especially in current scenario where PSUs are overowned. So, a negative.

MTAR Technologies – A wager on innovation meeting economies of scale (10-06-2024)
Electrolyzer as a product is not feasible. To replace grey hydrogen, green hydrogen needs to be sold at or around 2$/kg. No one is close to this price, except a company called Hysata. Secondly, with the advent of white hydrogen, electrolyzer might actually get disrupted in near future. However, remain very bullish on fuel cells. Disc: Biased and Invested
