ICICI Bank under performance may end in 2018_19

Hey Kharab, any update on the merger of IDFC Bank and IDFC? Last I heard about it was in August 2016

What are your views on Karnataka Bank mentioned by many members.What are your two three best banking bets in your view for next two three years .

 

Everybody's recommending Karnataka Bank. So it must be good. Though I look for stocks which are not the talk of the town.

My first ever investment 3 years ago was HDFC Bank and that remains my favorite in the banking space.

In the three years the other banking stocks I dealt I'm were RBL - sold out recently as I feel it's stretched valuation now and bought into ICICI which I hope to exit soon enough.

South based bank I have observed do not command premium valuations. Amongst them I have picked up SI Bank around levels of 19-20 three-four months back with an expectation of atleast doubling in 15-18months

IDFC Bank is another I entered around the time you just sold your holdings. It's a stock which I think will attract premium valuations consistently.

In the money in all - nice returns on HDFC and RBL. Decent short term returns already in SI Bank, ICICI and IDFC Bank (considering holding period of each)

Making money is what I am into when buying stocks. Marrying a stock - buy and forget isn't my style

 

Both of you specialist banking investors can focus on best private banks,but kindly tell me wich are worst performing psu banks available at distressed prices.I am sincerely interested there.

 

It seems first quarter results ICICI bank may make its final base and will be out performer in Banking there after. Bank could survive due to its many good subsidiaries and after its core banking start to perform it will be out performer. No recommendation just for discussion.

 

Sorry, would disagree. It is a rogue bank now - and there will be uncertainity for atleast one year. When there are much better options like Kotak, HDFC, RBL available - why to take unnecessary risk with ICICI. Same goes with Axis also - useless bank, look at last 3 qtr results. Plus its heavily involved in corrupt practices during DeMon. Stay clear of Axis and ICICI - better put in Gruh, Repco, Kotak

 

I am not saying this is best Bank, but I feel ICICI bank will be among top performers for next 2 years not only in banking but also in nifty , now onwards.No recommendation, I am invested and now bullish on this Stock for next two years.
