the biggest losses i booked in stock market

a investor is always a student. while learning he may go through several mistakes. please share yours.

 

I have so many I dont want to talk about because it spoils the mood. I lost big money in Bharti Shipyard, Kingfisher, DHFL and so many other worthless stocks. Learning experience not sure because I am still making many mistakes I am also making mistakes of selling too early like Kwality I sold after one year of patient wait. It shooted up after I sold If I had not made so many mistakes I would be millionaire today

 

dear @Srouta Mukherjee just consider it as tution fees you paid for learning in markets.just keep up your spirit for success alive.
anyway Bharti ship and dhfl seems to be good companies. is it? then how do u lost money?

 

DHFL means dewan housing finance.?? How come you made a loss there? Its a good company.

as a momento... liked tht one.
your losses seems to be quite big. dont take it as a failure. we investors always are students and commits mistakes many a times.book ur losses and move on. you can reduce your income tax liability by booking losses.

 

That is best attitude and only way to keep going on

I havnt made any major loss in equity cash segment till now.

I made huge losses in futures trading. Some of them were super huge. Futures trading is very risky. Be careful my dear friends.

 

they're a reminder of the mistakes we made and a lesson, we got KS Oils across all our accounts. Even my brother has it, he sold his other picks like Hero Motors and kept KS Oils

lol received mails today for AGM of Opto Circuits & Annual Report of KS Oils

 

It is not quoted now It was blue chip at one time with Deccan Chronicle newspaper doing well. But Venkat Reddy bough IPL team Deccan Chargers and aircraft also and lost lot of money. There was big scam committed and Reddy went to jail also. Banks also lost lot of money in scam.

can you help me in learning futures? how that works?

thats so sad story.be careful in future not to repeat any of your mistakes.

 

My biggest booked loss in Futures was 2.5 lakhs. Have booked 1-2 lakh losses many times. But its ok. I even made quite some money from futures.

If you want to learn futures its ok but my sincere advice would be to stick to cash segment delivery based portfolio system. Its safe and much more sure. Also you can play small bets. In futures the amount on stake is huge. Profit and loss both can be huge.

Derivatives is a "haram" for me.

 

I was not too much into options. Whatever little options i did was mainly buying puts and calls. I was mainly into futures.

Why is derivatives haraam for you?
