An honest confession by ex-anchor of CNBCTV-18 Udayan Mukherjee where he talks about forecasting folly and how it doesn't make sense to believe anybody on these Business Channels can predict markets. The only tried and tested way of making money from equity asset class is to buy good businesses at fair valuations and hold them.

 

Beautifully articulated by Udayan. Although unfortunately he spent over a decade on cnbc advising viewers to do exactly what he now says they shouldn't be doing. TRP's and the hunt for audience share drives business channels to propagate short-termism and trading mentality.
