    During the financial year 2018-19, the number of people who have filled online income tax has dropped by more than 6.60 lakhs. This information has been revealed in the data collected on the online income tax website of the Income Tax Department.

    6.74 million in the financial year 2017-18 People had filled online income tax. In FY 2018-19, their number came to 6.68 crore. In the year 2016-17, their number was 5.28 million. Kotak Economic Research expressed surprise at a report released on 30 April.

    He said, "We are surprised by the fall in the number of online income tax firms in the financial year 2018-19." However, the number of registered income taxpayers has increased during this period. Their number has increased by 15 percent to Rs 8.45 crore till March 31, 2019. The number of registered income taxpayers in March 2013 was only 2.70 million, which reached 5.20 million in March 2016 and 6.20 million in March 2017.
