The stock has suffered owing to poor domestic demand and increased imports from China.

The news that the finance ministry has imposed anti-dumping duties ranging from USD 180 to USD 316 per tonne for some industrial-grade stainless steel imported from China, Malaysia and South Korea in a bid to stem surging imports and protect the domestic industry may help to improve the fortunes of the company.

All steel companies have complained to the government about the dumping. The anti-dumping duties will be effective for a period of five years.

How much the move will help JSW Steel is not know. It will be a long road to travel.
But, at this stage, a 'hold' would be quite a rational decision to take.
