Yes bank hands down. Good promoter sans the case. Fastest growing bank. Good dividend policy. npas under control. Bite into it at every big fall. Good luck.

DCB would be a good bet for 5 year horizon. It can give multiple returns from the current level.

Do you have any other bank and NBFC stocks in your portfolio? What proportion of your portfolio is invested in the financial sector? If you don't have any financial stocks in your portfolio, you have a very wide range of stocks to choose from, including NBFCs from the consumer finance space (e.g. Bajaj Finance, CAPF, SCUF), housing finance (Repco, CanFin, LIC Housing), auto financing (e.g. Shriram Transport, Chola) etc. Even within banks, there is a wide array to choose from, from PSU banks to mid-cap and large-cap private banks. I suggest you carefully evaluate all available choices before settling on any particular stock.

UBS did that before when they dumped yes bank around 300 levels and issued a sell report. They bought back yes bank at 500 levels . You need to understand that its so very difficult to find out the true picture. Whom to believe whom to not. Most of the opinions including mine (which obviously doesn't matter) are unknowingly biased. UBS came out with a buy, followed by atleaast four other brokerages who came out screaming with a buy call. Now where does that leave you and me......confused. This is where your own conviction comes to the fore. Follow it.....stock market is a dangerous game ....they say its about fear and greed ...well fear not the greed as no wealth can be created without greed. I hold yes bank and bought a little more below 800 level.

You can consider Dhfl. Cheapest in its sector and a sector which prospectively should do very well.

In my mind, one can consider buying Yes Bank for short term target of 1100 by March 2016 - key and immediate triggers are a) Company has paid ~35% higher tax for Q1. b) upcoming QIP program to collect 1M$ - it is likely to issue ADR @ ~1100. Do not worry about the recent UBS report - it may be politically motivated by Madhu Kapoor and team. Even for long term, one can hold the stock - key and long term triggers a) past record of the bank. b) QIP money will boost financials. c) possible stock split and bonus issue (given the investor friendly approach for D/W distribution.

Better go for NBFC IMHO. Bank space is highly crowded and also now license are given on tap by RBI so where is monopoly. Also banks are subject to huge restriction like rural lending, priority sector, Jan Dhan etc which NBFC are not so profitability is higher. You can check CAPF, Chola, for long term prospects.
