Physical share certificate

Hi friends

My father had bought the shares of a company in 1990's but he could not get those shares transferred in his own name, although share transfer form(Form 7-B) is attached with the share certificate.

Share transfer form(Form 7-B) contains the name of seller from whom my father had bought those shares in 1990.

I request the members to please guide as how we can get those shares.

In my view in that attached form date is most important , i think from that date 1 year validity for transfer , i think it may be expired so , contact stock broker at that time your father bought those shares
and again collect signature from seller in a new form and send it to transfer , but it is most difficult issue
because it is 27 years old transaction , most difficult issues are broker identification and seller identification ..... in my view there is no other way

 

If not transfered with in time period of Transfer form seller is the owner in company books
and company send piramal certificates to his address on his name on that certificate

so after that , he may sell also , only solution is search for certificate holder or sellers contact details
and re take fresh form with his signature is the only solution i think

 

that shud be on the form itself.or you should find it personally using his name and place.

Is there any provision in law that the share tranfer deed can be revalidated by the registrar if those shareholders have not sold the shares twice?

 

from what you are saying, i understand that the transfer is not executed even as the transfer form is prepared. so to get the transfer of shares done , you have to prepare the transfer form signed by all parties.
but without identifying seller i dont think anything is possible. atleast his name and place is required.

 

i think you can send this form with certificates in registered post to share tranfer agents of piramal enterprises for the share tranfer. if they return it undone you can look at other possible ways.

Call up the registrar or write to them . They will provide the seller address as per their records. I have done it many times and suceeded always. The issue you will face is if Seller doesnt agree to sign the documents or he is not traceable.. I am stuck at this point without progress for many cases
