Hmmm .... I can't spot any clear portfolio building approach here. There are three mid-cap auto/ ancillary stocks, one large-cap PSU bank, two large-cap commodity (mineral) stocks, one fertilizer, one small cap pharma and one logistics stock.

On what basis did you buy these stocks? Is there a thinking or a game plan or is it just random picks?

If is the latter, then I think it would be better to follow a systematic portfolio building approach.

I suggest you have a look at the Model Portfolios prepared by leading brokerages. The advantage is that these portfolios are prepared after due thought. The stocks are carefully chosen on the basis of valuations. These are also nicely balanced to provide a mix between large-cap and mid-cap stocks. The Model Portfolios have also given returns that are far greater than what individual investors have been able to achieve on their own.

You will find the Model Portfolios in the main part of the website. If you encounter any difficulty, let me know and I will post links to the best of them.

I totally agree with Meenakshi. One should take advantage of the deep knowledge and research the analyst and his/her team usually puts in making a portfolio or for that matter even when putting out a stock recommendation for a single stock.

    Hi,

Let me share my thoughts on the stocks I follow -

Pidilite : The company has historically traded at PE @ 31. Current PE is 55. The stock is for sure a very good buy but its way too expensive now.
kitex garment : The company has been in news recently for all the right reasons. Its also attracting lot of attention from big investors. But I believe buying a small cap @ +40 PE is too much price. Would suggest to wait for further correction.
Repco: I prefer Dewan, Capital First and Gruh over Repco. It is expensive currently
Dewan housing : It is a very good stock to hold. Even though the stock has more than doubled in the last 2 Yrs, it is a good buy at current levels. It is currently quoting @ 1.2 PB which is in line with historical valuations
Granules: Its also a good buy. I would personally buy it <= Rs 65/share

Would suggest you to look at the valuation charts (historical PE & PB ) in Equity master for a quick understanding of the valuations. Having said that, please keep in mind that there is no substitute of doing your own research which includes reading through company's annual reports.
