Lets say you are invested in a fundamentally sound company and have doubled your money within 3 months, what would you do?

Well, I have never been in the happy position of making such gains. Assuming it does happen, I would cooly evaluate the reasons for the steep rise and ask whether it is sustainable. If I think it is based on hype, I might sell the whole or a part of my holding. On the other hand if there are fundamental reasons (e.g discovery of/ approval to a new drug) I would hold on tight and even buy more on dips.

I think every investor should have a view/target for his/her investment. Lets say my target is 1x of the investment and IF that happens in such a short span then he/she should exit as the target is met.

Now on the other hand if you have great conviction about the company then simply sit tight for multibagger returns.

This is a quite common case in every bull market.

Sometimes we miss the bus by selling a fundamentally sound company.

    This happened with me.

I sold D-link India Ltd at Rs 65 by making more than 100% returns in a very short term.

    See its CMP.

Ouch! I think having the stock and losing out hurts more than not having the stock at all. But, keep the faith. If you identified a winner once, you can do it again and again.

    Minakshi,
I have no regret because after selling Dlink I invested that Money in RS SOFTWARE.

vardhman acrylics may be the next multibagger.

There is no 'right'or 'wrong' answer in this - they come up only on hindsight.
So the best course is what Meenakshi had suggested - evaluate coolly with all the logic/rational based on the info available.
