MTAR Technologies – A wager on innovation meeting economies of scale (30-12-2023)
I am going to critically look at MTAR’s most recent earnings, guidance, and overall industry dynamics in the new year. I will share my thoughts together here once complete. Aiming for Jan 15, at the latest.
My key reason to remain invested would be my belief in MTAR’s ability to keep scaling up its fuel cell business, and the its ability to start mass manufacturing electrolyzers. The revenue diversification, away from clean energy (ex-nuclear) would be a bonus.
I am no expert on Telugu naming conventions but, looking at the IPO prospectus here, I saw that P. Srinivas Reddy (company MD) got the majority of his shares (at that time) as a gift from a P. Leelavathi. Below is a brief profile:
If that is the same person as Leelavathi Paravatha Reddy, I am the least bit bothered by the sale, but I can’t confirm.
Piccadily Agro Industries Ltd (30-12-2023)
For me, as an investor, this is a problem the Company should address on priority. I live in Delhi, I have been to shops 5 times to buy Indri (Delhi and Gurugram included). Everytime the shop keeper says it is out of stock. I have been able to buy it once, yes it tastes good. But the other 4 times, that I could not get it, I ended up buying some other brand.
The Company is losing a lot of potential sales due to laid- back (for lack of a better word) marketing and distribution strategy. Usually, one would buy some other brand if Indri/ any other particular is not available, as the main purpose is to drink/ enjoy!
Dollar Industries ltd – Fit Hai Boss (30-12-2023)
Hey,
Could you please share some data suggesting that the management has under delivered!!
I read in their last Con call that the management believes in under promising and over delivering.
I have read about last 4 con calls of dollar, I have not found them underdelivering.
Some data points of them not delivering will be great for us.
Interested in Dollar. Not Holding as of now.
Thankyou.
Tega Industry – unheard story (30-12-2023)
Hi @krunal1 , Thanks for asking. I had briefly looked at Tega once in the past but didn’t go into much detail. Prima facie it looks similar to AIA Engineering (which I have held in the past) than RHI Magnesita, and that might be the reason I was a bit biased. Look at volume growth and inventories closely as headline revenue and margins numbers can be deceptive. AIA had too many moving parts and you can read my posts under the AIA thread to see where Tega fits. I think RHIM is quite different and much more robust business.

Sorry this is off topic but : if you notice giants are having tough time at a industrial scale : Infosys: Infosys loses $1.5 billion deal with global firm – The Economic Times
Now if I see the other side to this – they are issuing loans to cater working capital?
I might be wrong – have not gone deep, nor would like too…

Due to tax, mainly from the recent large churn, the folio value will be 1% lower. The tax amount has not been debited from folio yet, historical losses have reduced taxes a little bit.
Currently 1% below ATH. 110% gains since start of the financial year. 3x since starting my financial independence journey in March 2021.

Flashback:
One of my first punts was in solar panel, Moser Baer, when my demat was just opened. Rest 2-3 picks were all bluest of blue chips, ICICI Bank, Tata motors etc. Indian subsidy policy was terminated due to trade dispute raised by US, and politics was unfavorable too. Only good study helps in markets.
Many thanks to value pickr folks!
