TV18 Broadcast reports 30% rise in Q3 consolidated net profit

Total income of the company has increased by 15.23% at Rs 704.30 crore for quarter under review
TV18 Broadcast has reported results for third quarter ended December 31, 2015.

The company has registered a rise of 35.77% in its net profit at Rs 45.51 crore in Q3FY15 as compared to Rs 33.52 crore in the corresponding quarter previous year. The total income of the company has increased by 17.56% to Rs 177.39 crore for the quarter under review as compared to Rs 150.89 crore in the same quarter last year.

On the consolidated basis, the company has reported 29.66% rise in its net profit after tax, minority interest and share of profit of associates at Rs 78.29 crore for the quarter as compared to Rs 60.38 crore for the same quarter in the previous year. Total income of the company has increased by 15.23% at Rs 704.30 crore for quarter under review as compared to Rs 611.23 crore for the quarter ended December 31, 2014.

Maruti Suzuki India hikes prices across models

The price of the recently launched model Baleno has been increased in the range of Rs 5,000 to Rs 12,000
Maruti Suzuki India has increased the prices (Ex-Showroom - Delhi) ranging from Rs 1,000 to Rs 4,000 across models. The price of the recently launched model Baleno has been increased in the range of Rs 5,000 to Rs 12,000. This price increase is with effect from January 16, 2016.

The country’s largest car maker, has registered a rise of 8.5% in its total car sales (Domestic + Export) for the month of December 2015 at 119,149 units, as against 109,791 units in 2014. The company’s domestic sales rose by 13.5% in December 2015 at 111,333 units, as against 98,109 units in corresponding month last year.

Of the total, the company has sold 91,043 units of its passenger cars during last month, up by 11.6% as against 81,564 units in 2014. The company’s sales of vans have increased by 3.3% to 11122 units as against 10771 units in 2014. Moreover, the company’s sales of its utility vehicles rose by 58.8% to 9168 units from 5774 units in 2014.

Kotak Mahindra Bank reports 32% rise in Q3 consolidated net profit

Total income of the bank has surged 30.56% to Rs 6950.41 crore in the quarter under review
Kotak Mahindra Bank has reported results for third quarter ended December 31, 2015.

The bank has registered 36.64% rise in its net profit at Rs 634.72 crore for the quarter under review, as compared to Rs 464.52 crore for the same quarter in the previous year. Total income of the bank has increased 61.77% at Rs 4843.86 crore for Q3FY16 as compared Rs 2994.2 crore for the corresponding quarter previous year.

On the consolidated basis, the bank’s net profit rose 31.89% to Rs 945.16 crore for the Q3 FY16 as compared to Rs 716.61 crore in Q3 FY15. Moreover, the total income of the bank surged 30.56% to Rs 6950.41 crore in the quarter under review as compared to Rs 5323.46 crore in the corresponding quarter previous year.

The merger of ING Vysya Bank (eIVBL) with the Kotak Mahindra Bank (Bank) was effective from April 01, 2015. The results for the quarter and nine months ended December 31, 2015 include operations of eIVBL.

VRL Logistics places order for 51 buses

The order includes a mix of 9400 XL and 9400PX multi-axle models
VRL Logistics has placed an order for 51 multi-axle intercity coaches worth Rs 60 crore with Volvo Buses India. The order includes a mix of 9400 XL and 9400PX multi-axle models. With these new coaches, the company aims to increase presence across existing key bus routes by increasing the schedules. Also a few of the new buses would be deployed on existing long routes and preset day vehicles on these routes would be redeployed on others.

BHEL commissions second 660 MW supercritical thermal unit in Uttar Pradesh

The unit has been synchronized by BHEL four months ahead of the schedule agreed with the developer
Bharat Heavy Electricals (BHEL) has commissioned 660 MW supercritical unit of Lalitpur Super Thermal Power Project (STPP) located in the state of Uttar Pradesh. This is the second 660 MW unit commissioned by BHEL in Uttar Pradesh within a fortnight. Last month, BHEL has successfully commissioned the first unit of 3x660 MW Prayagraj Super Thermal Power Project (STPP) at Bara in Allahabad district of Uttar Pradesh.

The unit has been synchronized by BHEL four months ahead of the schedule agreed with the developer. The commencement of generation from the unit will result in significant improvement of power availability in the state. The main plant of the 3x660 MW Lalitpur STPP is being executed by BHEL.

Besides the balance 660 MW super-critical Units, two each at Lalitpur and Bara, BHEL is also executing a 500 MW units at Anpara ‘D’ TPS of Uttar Pradesh Vidyut Utpadan Nigam (UPRVUNL) in Uttar Pradesh. All these units are in advanced stages of completion. With the commissioning of these units, in addition to two recently commissioned 660 MW units, the state of UP would have an additional power generation capacity of 4,460 MW.

Mahanagar Telephone Nigam (MTNL), the state owned telecom firm which operates in Delhi and Mumbai, has added 5,194 mobile subscribers in December, 2015. Following the addition, the company’s total subscriber count stood at 35.27 lakh with a market share of 0.47%.

MTNL was set up by the Government of India to upgrade the quality of telecom services, expand the telecom network, and introduce new services and to raise revenue for telecom development needs of India's key metros -- Delhi and Mumbai.

Reliance Infrastructure takes over management control of PDOC

PDOC is participating in various programmes in the field of new ship-building and MRO
Reliance Infrastructure (RInfra) has taken over the management and control of Pipavav Defence & Offshore Engineering Company (PDOC) and will hold 36.5% of the equity capital of Pipavav Defence & Offshore Engineering Company. RInfra along with defence SPVs are the new promoters of PDOC and the company will be renamed as Reliance Defence and Engineering.
