Government clears Biocon’s Rs 1060 crore proposal for setting up pharmaceutical plant

Karnataka government has cleared proposal of Biocon’s Rs 1060 crore investment for setting up a pharmaceutical plant. The proposed plant will manufacture injectables, monoclonal, and anti-bodies vaccines and will generate jobs to 700 people. The plant will be set up at Jigani in Anekal taluka.

Engineers India reports 36% drop in Q4 net profit

Total income of the company has decreased by 37.95% at Rs 352.70 crore for quarter under review

Engineers India has reported results for the fourth quarter and year ended March 31, 2016.

The company has posted a fall of 35.77% in its net profit at Rs 69.92 crore for the quarter ended March 31, 2016 as compared to Rs 108.87 crore for the same quarter in the previous year. Total income of the company has decreased by 37.95% at Rs 352.70 crore for quarter under review as compared to Rs 568.45 crore for the quarter ended March 31, 2015.

For the year ended March 31, 2016, the company has posted a fall of 16.13% in its net profit at Rs 258.31 crore as compared to Rs 307.98 crore for the same period in the previous year. Total income of company decreased 11.75% at Rs 1752.78 crore for year under review as compared to Rs 1986.11 crore for the period ended March 31, 2015.

For the year ended March 31, 2016, on the consolidated basis, the company has posted a fall of 16.37% in its net profit at Rs 261.52 crore as compared to Rs 312.71 crore for the same period in the previous year. Total income of company has decreased by 11.64% at Rs 1779.94 crore for year under review as compared to Rs 2014.36 crore for the period ended March 31, 2015.

Apollo Hospitals Enterprise reports marginal fall in Q4 net profit

Total income of the company has increased by 15.97% at Rs 1401.53 crore for quarter under review

Apollo Hospitals Enterprise has reported results for the fourth quarter and year ended March 31, 2016.

The company has posted a fall of 2.12% in its net profit at Rs 75.69 crore for the quarter ended March 31, 2016 as compared to Rs 77.33 crore for the same quarter in the previous year. However, total income of the company has increased by 15.97% at Rs 1401.53 crore for quarter under review as compared to Rs 1208.51 crore for the quarter ended March 31, 2015.

For the year ended March 31, 2016, the company has posted a rise of 6.59% in its net profit at Rs 369.44 crore as compared to Rs 346.59 crore for the same period in the previous year. Total income of company has increased by 18.11% at Rs 5477.96 crore for year under review as compared to Rs 4638.06 crore for the period ended March 31, 2015.

For the year ended March 31, 2016, on the consolidated basis, the company has posted a fall of 2.61% in its net profit at Rs 331.02 crore as compared to Rs 339.9 crore for the same period in the previous year. However, total income of company has increased by 17.20% at Rs 6112.28 crore for year under review as compared to Rs 5215.2 crore for the period ended March 31, 2015.

Maruti Suzuki reports 7.1% rise in May sales

The company’s domestic sales rose by 10.6% in May 2016 at 113,162 units, as against 102,359 units in corresponding month last year

Maruti Suzuki India, country’s largest car maker, has registered a rise of 7.1% in its total car sales (Domestic + Export) for the month of May 2016 at 123,034 units, as against 114,825 units in May 2015. The company’s domestic sales rose by 10.6% in May 2016 at 113,162 units, as against 102,359 units in corresponding month last year.

Of the total, the company has sold 87,402 units of its passenger cars during last month, up by 2.6% as against 85,190 units in May 2015. The company’s sales of vans have increased by 4.8% to 12164 units in May 2016 as against 11602 units in May 2015. Further, the company’s sales of its utility vehicles rose by 144.2% to 13596 units from 5567 units in May 2015.

However, the company’s exports have declined by 20.8% to 9872 units in May 2016 as against 12466 units in May 2015.
