Gammon Infra’s SPV commences tolling at ‘Rajahmundry Godavari Bridge Road’ project

It has commenced tolling operations with effect from November 01, 2015
Gammon Infrastructure Projects’ SPV has commenced tolling operations at the ‘Rajahmundry Godavari Bridge Road’ project toll booth with effect from November 01, 2015, the Commercial Operation Date, approved by the competent authority. Rajahmundry Godavari Bridge is special Purpose Vehicle (SPV) of Gammon Infrastructure Projects where it holds 71.43% stake.

This project under the said SPV is for design, construction, operation and maintenance of a 4.15 kms long four-lane bridge, which will connect Kovvur and Rajahmundry in Andhra Pradesh across the Godavari River, with 10.34 kms of approach roads. The said SPV has commenced the tolling operations in compliance with the Concession Agreement requirement.

Gammon Infrastructure Projects is an infrastructure project development company incorporated by Gammon India, to participate in the development of infrastructure projects on a public private partnership (PPP) basis.

M&M reports 20% growth in October sales

The Passenger Vehicles segment (which includes UVs, Cars and Vans) sold 24,060 units in October 2015
Mahindra & Mahindra (M&M), India’s leading SUV manufacturer, has reported its auto sales numbers which stood at 51,383 units during October 2015 as against 42,780 units during October 2014, registering a growth of 20%. The Passenger Vehicles segment (which includes UVs, Cars and Vans) sold 24,060 units in October 2015 as against 20,255 units during October 2014, up by 19%.

The company's domestic sales stood at 48,815 units during October 2015 as against 40,278 units during October 2014. In October 2015, the Medium and Heavy Commercial Vehicles segment sold 581 units, registering a growth of 169%. The company’s exports for October 2015 stood at 2,568 units registering a growth of 3%.

Bajaj Auto reports 9% fall in October sales

Bajaj Auto, the second-largest motorcycle manufacturer has registered fall of 9% in total sales to 3,52,822 units in October 2015 against 3,86,017 units in October 2014. The sales of the motorcycles decreased by 8% and stood at 3,08,733 units in the month under review against 3,36,923 units in same month in 2014. The company has reported 10% fall in Commercial Vehicles sales, which stood at 44,089 units in October 2015 as compared to 49,094 units in same month of 2014. The company’s total exports out of the above stood at 1,27,645 units, a loss of 19% as compared to 1,58,547 units sold in the corresponding month last year.

Tata Motors reports marginal growth in October sales

Tata Motors continued to witness strong year-on-year growth in certain key segments in October 2015, with passenger cars (excluding UV’s), M&HCV and Exports, growing by 15%, 20% and 13%, respectively. Total sale of Tata Motors passenger and commercial vehicles (including exports) were at 43,486 vehicles, higher by 1%, over 42,862 vehicles, sold in October 2014. The domestic sale of Tata commercial and passenger vehicles for October 2015 were at 38,917 vehicles, remained flat, over vehicles sold in October 2014.

In October 2015, Tata Motors passenger vehicles recorded a year-on-year growth of 11%, with sales of 12,798 vehicles, compared to 11,511 nos. The growth trend was driven by the cars segment, specifically the new launches. The sale of the passenger cars in October 2015 were higher by 15% at 11,049 vehicles, compared to 9,594 vehicles, in October 2014. UV sales declined 9% at 1,749 vehicles, in October 2015.

In commercial vehicles, M&HCV sales continued to grow at 12,504 vehicles, higher by 20%, over October 2014. The Light & Small Commercial Vehicle sales however continued to reflect industry decline and were at 13,615 vehicles, a decline of 19% over October 2014. These impacted the overall commercial vehicles sales for Tata Motors in the domestic market that were at 26,119 vehicles in October 2015, a decline of 4% over October 2014.

The company's sales from exports were 4,569 vehicles, in October 2015, higher by 13% compared to 4,059 vehicles in October 2014. The cumulative sales from exports for the fiscal at 32,771 vehicles, were higher by 15%, over 28,375 vehicles, sold last year.

Maruti Suzuki reports 29.10% rise in October sales

The company’s domestic sales rose by 24.7% in October 2015 at 121,063 units, as against 97,069 units in corresponding month last year
Maruti Suzuki India, country’s largest car maker, has registered a rise of 29.10% in its total car sales (Domestic + Export) for the month of October 2015 at 134,209 units, as against 103,973 units in 2014. The company’s domestic sales rose by 24.7% in October 2015 at 121,063 units, as against 97,069 units in corresponding month last year.

Of the total, the company has sold 97951 units of its passenger cars during last month, up by 21.5% as against 80589 units in 2014. The company’s sales of vans have increased by 30.8% to 13677 units as against 10453 units in 2014. Moreover, the company’s sales of its utility vehicles rose by 56.5% to 9435 units from 6027 units in 2014.

Moreover, the company’s exports have increased by 90.4% to 13,146 units as against 6,904 units in 2014.

The company’s light commercial vehicle (LCV) segment witnessed a rise of 4% to 2,627 units in October 2015.

The company has reported 25.35% fall in its net profit at Rs 96.05 crore for the quarter ended September 30, 2015 as compared to Rs 128.67 crore for the same quarter in the previous year. The total income of the company has decreased by 6.52% at Rs 731.43 crore for the quarter under review as compared to Rs 782.46 crore in the corresponding quarter of the previous year.
