Can someone attribute reasons for a 13% intra day rise in its stock price. I can see a huge surge in trading volumes in the past week. I also do not see any stock specific announcements being made. Any ideas?

There appears to be no apparent reason. A lot of stocks are flying with no apparent reason. It could be expectations that the quarterly results are going to be good. Maybe some big investor bought a bulk quantity.
