Sunil Singhania's Abakkus PMS Fund has bought four small-cap stocks in the recent past that we have to be aware of. These stocks appear to have strong fundamentals and may be potential multibaggers

J Kumar Infraprojects is one of the latest stock picks of the Abakkus Growth Fund. The Fund holds 20,05,000 equity shares equivalent to 2.65% stake in J Kumar as of 30th June 2022.

The stock is up 54% on a YoY basis though it is flat over a 5 year period.



The stock was earlier heavily recommended by Porinju Veliyath though it is not known whether he presently holds any shares in the Company.



The other notable shareholders of JKumar include LETKO BROSSEAU EMERGING MARKETS EQUITY FUND, ABHIJIT PERIWAL, MUKUL MAHAVIR AGRAWAL and VIKAS VIJAYKUMAR KHEMANI.

J Kumar Infra is doing very well due to the boom in construction and infrastructure projects in Mumbai. It reported good Q4FY22 results with a 126% increase in net profit to ₹74 crore. The sales increased to ₹1,114 crore.

Paras Defence is the second latest stock pick. The Fund has bought 522,732 shares. The Company operates across 5 major product lines viz. Defense optics, Defense electronics, Heavy Engineering, Niche technologies and Electromagnetic pulse protection systems. It almost has a monopoly in the space optics field, which is a kind of an entry barrier. It also has a strong product line and its clients are secure and stable. It is well positioned to benefit from the Atmanirbhar Bharat and Make-in-India initiatives. It is a key player in high-precision optics manufacturing for space and defence application in India.

Among the other recent picks are companies named Anup Engineering and Rupa and Company.

Singhania's Abakkus Emerging Opportunities Fund-1 increased stake in The Anup Engineering with a purchase of 10,000 shares during January-March 2022 period. The fund owned 5,65,000 equity shares (5.72%) as of March 31, 2022.

Another fund of Sunil Singhania known as Abakkus Growth Fund bought 9,10,000 equity shares (1.14%) of Rupa and company recently.

These companies also have sound business models. Anup Engineering supplies critical process equipment like shell and tube heat exchangers, pressure vessels, reactors, columns and powers, centrifuges and dished ends to various industries like oil and gas, petrochemicals, fertilisers, power, chemical, water, aerospace, and pharma.

Rupa is one of the largest knitwear brands in India that produces innerwear, casual wear, thermal wear and sleep wear for men, women and kids through brands including Frontline, Softline, Euro, Bumchums, Torrido, Thermocot and more.

All four stocks have notched up hefty gains in the recent past and look poised for more gains in the months to come.
