Ray Dalio, brilliant investor, created hedge fund with AUM of $160 Billion
We are not familiar with Ray Dalio‘s profile because he does not come to Dalal Street.
However, people on Wall Street are very familiar with him and take his name in a tone of hushed respect.
Ray displayed his mastery in stock picking at a very tender age.
At the age of 12 years, he bought stock in a company named Northeast Airlines for a paltry sum of $300.
The Company merged with another company and Ray raked in massive multibagger gains.
Then, in 1975, he started a hedge fund named “Bridgewater Associates” out of his two-bedroom apartment in New York.
One thing led to another and Bridgewater Associates soon blossomed into the “World’s biggest hedge fund firm” with an AUM of $160 billion.
Ray Dalio is crowned the “67th-richest person in the world” by Forbes with a net worth of 1,870 crores USD.
Ray is also a best selling author with a publication titled “Principles for success“.
The book has met with rave reviews from intellectuals.
Ray has also explained the entire concept of “Principles” in a video.
He states that people should keep five things in mind if they want to achieve success.
Ray Dalio grills NAMO, asks tough questions
Ray had the privilege of grilling NAMO at the ‘Future Investment Initiative (FII)’, Saudi Arabia’s flagship annual investor meet.
The meet is a very prestigious one and is under the spotlight of top political leaders and business tycoons.
It is rightly described as the “Davos in the Desert“.
Ray asked NAMO about his views on the emerging world order.
NAMO pointed out that the world has changed from being “bipolar” to ‘multi-polar‘ with an increasing significance of small countries.
“Today the world has changed. We have a multipolar world today. Every country in the world is interdependent and interconnected. The manner in which the world was viewed three to four decades back has changed. We will have to change our thinking,” he replied, impressing Dalio and the other luminaries with his depth of thought.
“In today’s world, the importance of smaller countries are also increasing. We may have any ideology — socialist or capitalist — but ultimately we have to see what we are contributing towards humanity,” he added.
“Once the power of a nation was judged by the land that remained under its control and nations followed the expansionist policy. Now the strength of a nation is on the basis of new innovations, technology interventions and so on. We have to work for the vertical growth,” he opined.
Ray also asked about the emerging challenges in the world.
“To maintain a balance between human values and technology is a challenge,” NAMO replied.
NAMO also provided impressive answers to questions regarding the ongoing conflicts in the world, whether it be of trade, technology, capital, geopolitical etc.
NAMO is one of the best, if not the best, leader in the World
Ray Dalio was clearly much impressed with his interaction with NAMO.
“You have done many remarkable things” in India, he stated.
“You are not representing the poor or the rich and you are not representing one faction in relationship to another. You have joined the country together. You have made tremendous accomplishments,” he added.
He also complimented NAMO for bringing 500 million toilets and water and changing the wellbeing of the Indian population.
“You are creating an economy that is making a great deal of progress for all of the people in a broader way,” the Billionaire added in a tone of utmost respect.
In my opinion, Indian’s Prime Minister Modi is one of the best, if not the best, leaders in the world. I had an opportunity to explore with him how he thinks as well as what he thinks. If you’re interested in listening to it, here it is: https://t.co/upiMLOgKCA

What I’m most impressed about with Modi is how he has brought the country together by helping the full range of people, from those who are in abject poverty to rich business leaders.

He is doing that by providing both basics and cutting edge digital technologies as part of his mission for India’s direction. For example his government built more than 100 million toilets which reduced diseases potentially saving approximately 300,000 lives by some estimates.

In the last election he won a big mandate from voters for the next 5 years. I think he has a good chance of creating revolutionarily better outcomes with the broad support of the population. Those are big deals that are hard to find in other countries.

Bill Gates also honoured NAMO
Bill Gates, the World’s richest man, awarded NAMO the prestigious “Global Goalkeeper” award for his yeoman service towards “Swacch Bharat“.

NAMO is the “Lee Quan Yew” of India: Prem Watsa
Billionaire Prem Watsa, who is fondly known as the “Warren Buffett of Canada” for his investing acumen, has equated NAMO with Lee Quan Yew, the legendary leader of Singapore.
“Modi is a very hard working man. He has eliminated corruption at the top and I think he is going to do a wonderful, wonderful job over the years. I am hoping he will be re-elected in a few years and re-elected again and India will be transformed during that time,” Prem Watsa has stated.
He has also explained the numerous similarities between NAMO and Lee Quan Yew during an interaction with Ramesh Damani.
NAMO is the sixth most respected man in the World
It is notable that NAMO is the sixth “most admired men in the world” in 2019.
Dignitaries like Cristiano Ronaldo, Dalai Lama, Leo Messi and Putin trail him.

No doubt, this is a matter of great pride for all Indians!
No wonder the GDP is growing at less than 2% even after the numbers have been faked so heavily. The accomplishment of a great man. Lovely.
