Porinju Veliyath, the fund manager with an AUM of Rs. 350 crore, describes himself as a “Patriot”. He is living up to this description by taking every opportunity that he can find to talk about the damage that the alleged “intolerance” brigade is doing to the secular fabric of the Country.
Anti-national media guys & other vested interests, attempting to pull down @narendramodi and a majority govt will be exposed very soon!
— Porinju Veliyath (@porinju) November 11, 2015
All Patriots should support the Democratically elected Govt to implement the much needed economic reforms for the benefit of all Indians.
— Porinju Veliyath (@porinju) November 11, 2015
Porinju also does not hesitate to target specific political leaders, without naming them. In his latest interview, Porinju left no one in doubt about his contempt for Mani Shankar Aiyar, the Congress leader, who is infamous for his acerbic style of speaking, and who recently pleaded with the Pakistanis to help overthrow NAMO’s regime ((hume le aaye aur unko hatayiye (bring us & remove them)). Porinju’s tirade caused some discomfort to the moderator, who was anxious to keep the discussion apolitical. However, Porinju was so upset that he did not pay any heed to the moderator’s hint.
Vijay Kedia, who has a very pleasant temperament at all times, is also irked by the situation. He mocked the ‘award waapsi’ stunt of the ‘Aadarsh Liberals’ with a sarcastic tweet:
After making your cash, assets & fame in a stock u can return yr dividend payment slip and blame..Intolerance.
Mkt will still tolerate u.
— Vijay Kedia (@VijayKedia1) November 24, 2015
PN Vijay, the veteran stock picker, keeps such a low profile nowadays that several new investors may not even have heard his name. However, old timers fondly remember PN Vijay’s stellar stock picks like Natco Pharma, NBCC, KNR Construction, etc, all of which are blockbuster multibaggers.
PN Vijay also expressed his disgust at the prevailing situation:
Modi has a clear plan for development and poverty removal. The Secular forces have nothing to offer except Hate Modi & contempt for Hinduism
— P.N.VIJAY (@pnvijay) October 31, 2015
BJP should not react to every silly comment about "so-called" intolerance.Whole world knows India born religions have tolerance in their DNA
— P.N.VIJAY (@pnvijay) November 24, 2015
Motilal Oswal, the boss man of Motilal Oswal Securities and the man who has gifted us the famous “100-bagger” stocks, also gave vent to his anger at the prevailing situation:
Kiran Rao w/o Aamir Khan says she wants to leave India for safety of their child. He should not forget that only Indians have made him hero
— Motilal Oswal (@MrMotilalOswal) November 24, 2015
Samir Arora, the whiz-kid fund manager with Helios Capital has an opinion on every issue under the sun. He tweeted on the issue with his unique sense of dry humour:
Who says Indians are not tolerant?
Look at the pollution that Delhiites have to tolerate every day.
https://t.co/zXZNyGXw3E
— Samir Arora (@Iamsamirarora) November 6, 2015
You should be tolerant. This is how some people in all crowds behave https://t.co/6udpsKNTPt
— Samir Arora (@Iamsamirarora) November 7, 2015
Even Sunil Singhania, the soft-spoken fund manager with Reliance Mutual Fund, who normally keeps a tight lip on political issues, sent out a cryptic tweet:
Democracy is supreme!
— Sunil Singhania (@SunilBSinghania) November 8, 2015
At the end of the day, PN Vijay had the last word. He said “ONLY way for BJP to win back public confidence is to run efficient Govt in Centre focusing TOTALLY on Development; give up all side agendas.”
This is very important because it suggests that NAMO will, driven by all the criticism against him, including the humiliating defeat in the Bihar elections, be motivated to unleash a number of reforms, including enacting the much-awaited GST. If so, this will send the stock markets surging and all of us will prosper!
Listen up. This is very serious. Firstly, I openly demand that every Indian, irrespective of caste or religion ban Amir khan and any of his movies. I will personally never watch a movie from that joker again. Secondly. If you ever want your children, or yourself to be happy in life, then you have to support Narendar Modi. This man is trying to clean India, boost its economy, make you rich. Modi wants to make you rich. Rahul ghandi is saying that cleaning India, make in India is rubbish. Can you even believe this. I will say it only once. GST must pass. Reforms must pass, or you and your children will be called weak, poor Indians for the rest of your life. If you ever want happiness, then simply support Modi. You will never regret it. And Amir khan, I will be more than happy to show you the door out of India so you and your son, Mr KHAN, can safely leave. I am sure UK with its Christians, Australia with their racists, Suadi Arabia with their laws will openly welcome you with open arms mr KHAN.
You are calling a mother who is concerned about the future of her child a traitor! Fine, how about scores of Indians who have kept the future of their children in their hearts and immigrated to greener pastures in US, UK and in other countries. What do you call them? Kiran Rao has only thought about it but these people have actually done it. And these very people throng Modi’s meeting and call themselves partiots. What an irony!
Let me try and explain it to you very simply. Because you are an Indian, I fully respect your opinion. Those mothers and families who have left India and gone overseas are opportunists and risk takers. I am very happy for them to have success and happiness. But not once do these Indians say India is intolerant and I will not ever go there. They do not spread lies and insult the country. On the contrary they are more infatuated with beautiful India and our leader Modi. So according to your method of thinking, calling India intolernant and concluding that it is dangerous is looking after the welfare of your child. Maybe you don’t understand one thing, the mother who is calling her country intolerant is married to a man named Khan who has been allowed to make millions from Hindu Indians because of one simple fact. Our tolerance towards all faiths and cultures and honest respect. I respect every religion and Indian, except pathetic weak Indians who dare to insult our nation and a leader current or future from any party who will have a vision of prosperity. And so should you. Don’t accept mediocre any longer, and stand up for mother India. She needs us.
So the problem is in saying, not in doing! People who have immigrated to greener shores continue to be patriots, in spite of the fact that they have pledged allegiance to another country and salute its flag. If things are all rosy in India, why did they leave or at least why don’t they come back now?
What you are saying what we have been following all along within the family, in the name of family honour. Don’ complaint about abusive behaviour of other family members, marry the girl/ boy chosen for you in spite of your like and dislikes, tolerate extra marital relationship of husbands etc. etc. in the name of family honour. If someone complaints about anything, he or she is a traitor to the family/ country. When will be ever grow up to tolerate dissent?
I’m not justifying what Kiran Rao/ Aamir Khan said, but the reaction to the whole issue is out of proportion. People may agree or disagree with the present Govt. but we are a democracy and if criticizing the previous Govt. was ok, criticizing the present Govt. should also be ok.
For those who don’t know ,PNVijay is associated with BJP ,so his comments are on expected lines although he is very good stock picker.Democracy means accommodation of divergent views. Those who are making aggressive positive noise for Modi should not over look results of recent Bihar and Delhi elections.Even bielection result of a Lok Sabha seat from MP indicate some things.Public memory is not so short that they will forget that BJP stalled GST for three years and Modi was on for front. As you sow,so you reep..In India political parties behave differently when in power or in Oppostion and BJP is no different. To carry along all people or at least try to do so is the responsibilty of the Govt of the day .Harmony and peace are prime drivers of Economy ,short cut never works. We should hope some thing common in liking to majorty will come out of present debate to the satisfaction of all concerned.Pronjue and other big shots should avoid temptation of making some fast buck at the expense of democratic discussion as these are the cost involved with beautiful process called democracy or should try their luck in China ,where there may not be such issues.
Inspite of my above post I strongly believe Indians is The Most Tolerant Society on Earth. But that credit goes to beutiful and loving people of my great country India .Ruling and Oppostion parties has no role in it and need not to take credit for same. They both actually worked against this for narrow political gains time to time.If Aamir Khan or some other intellectuals were referring to some Individuals, they may be right. But if they means Indian society as a whole , they are totaly 100% wrong and they need to rethink.
As I recall in Israel. film actors are not allowed to plead in courts, they are termed profession liars.
Am I right?
An immature ill timed statement by a mature(in public perception) celebrity .
Let me just make another statement here. Anyone who dares makes an excuse right now for Modi stalling GST and saying you will seep what you sow shows how ignorant and pathetic some Indians are. This is not the time or place to make ridiculous comments at the expense of great mother India. If anyone dares to insult our country like this.
I am for GST,No body in India is opposing GST,including Oppostion. They just want rate to be capped at 28% for sake of us people. What harm,if Modi and BJP apologise to Nation for stalling GST for three years and seeking cooperation ,which will force Oppostion to cooperate, but BJP and Modi may not do it as they would like to repeat the same politics when they will be in opposition.I fully endorse views of Dear Shakti Khanduri,as it is better if politics is left to politicians, as they are doing enough harm to nation and no need to damage it further by non political persons of fame.
Sorry read GST to be capped at 18%.
The problem today is that people believe social media blindly & do not verify facts before adding their 2 bits …. if anyone bothered to read Aamir Khan’s comments, they would realise that Aamir never said he was thinking of leaving the country, but said that he was shocked (disasterous is the word he used) to hear his wife even pose such a question.
The sensible reaction to his comments would have been to show him & his Mrs the statistics that could prove otherwise, but as is the norm nowadays, the trolls & abusers were immediately after him …. almost making the case for his wife’s question.
I will not accept anything but Osiris sentiments and outlook for India and Indians. Australia has racists. New Zealand harbors racists. EU bans religious attire. Saudi Arabia does not recognize a woman as a human being. And we have the audacity to question India. India is not perfect and has many flaws. I for one don’t care of caste or religion. Only Indians. Don’t dare question when someone like Modi is trying to do something good for the country. And if a comment comes out saying Modi must first apologize then we discuss the benefit of mother India, then it is appalling if such a statement comes from an Indian. Get it in your thick skulls. The rest of the world hates Indians because we do not change our names to western names, nor do we embrace other traditions, because we believe so strongly in our identity. Now enough is enough. Modi must be supported. Our country will be great. And Indians are great. I dare any Indian to make a statement that questions or challenges that fact.
Too much of importance is given by media to irrelavent things. Remember Times of India devoted half the news paper to cover the issue of Sheena Bora murder case.
Leave the issue die its natural death guys.
My 0.5 cents here – Mainstream media hates BJP and Modi and he is not helping himself by neglecting them as well. He ignores them and they continue to be under the influence of the so called secular parties that have exploited India. Our headlines vary with season – remember the so called church attacks during the Delhi election? do you see them now? remember the Dadri lynching which took place in an opposition ruled state, during Bihar election…..India is the most tolerant of all societies. That said, the odd out layer incident continues to happen and I condemn it. That disturbs me as well and we end up wasting time, endlessly discussing some trivial topic, after another…..damage is done for BJP. they have to rethink their strategy, to be inclusive of main stream media. As long as the media is in the grip of some of these opportunists, they will make u believe what they want u to believe; they will make you dance to their tunes and that is a stark reality
..continuing the above. The common Indian is struggling for survival in rural India and if he is in urban India, he is struggling to overcome the combo of bad living conditions, poor infrastructure, even increasing traffic, spiraling costs in all walks of life. He has no time for anything, other than basic survival. Our basic survival instinct is keeping them going and the successive Govts. have been trying to ruin that as much as possible with misplaced priorities, policies, self propagation and vote bank exploitation. We have paid a huge price for keeping this rag tag democracy (democrazy) going and it is at the cost of the common man. I see good intent with the current govt (although, I don’t agree with them for everything. For example, the shifting of LTCG in Debt to 3 years has put me on the docks personally) but execution is as poor as the past 60 years
