The SME initial public offering (IPO) of IC Electricals has attracted strong investor interest after several marquee institutional investors, including veteran investor Ashish Kacholia, SageOne Investment Managers, and Pine Oak, participated in the anchor investor round.

The company is looking to raise ₹47.91 crore through its public issue, which is priced in the range of ₹94-₹99 per share. The IPO will remain open for subscription until July 7, 2026, while the shares are scheduled to be listed on the SME platform on July 10, 2026.

High Entry Ticket for Retail Investors

Unlike mainboard IPOs, IC Electricals’ SME issue comes with a relatively high investment threshold. Investors will have to apply for a minimum of two lots, with each lot comprising 1,200 shares.

At the upper price band of ₹99 per share, the minimum investment works out to ₹2.38 lakh, making it suitable primarily for high-net-worth investors and experienced market participants comfortable with SME listings.

Grey Market Premium Signals Strong Demand

The IPO is commanding a grey market premium (GMP) of around 40%, indicating healthy demand ahead of listing. Based on the prevailing GMP, market participants expect the stock to debut at a significant premium over the issue price, although grey market trends remain unofficial and are subject to change.

Railway Electronics Manufacturer

IC Electricals is engaged in manufacturing electronic equipment for the Indian railway sector, catering to the country’s expanding railway infrastructure and modernization initiatives.

India’s railway ecosystem has been witnessing sustained capital expenditure from the government, with increasing investments in electrification, signalling, safety systems, rolling stock, and station redevelopment. Companies supplying specialized electronic equipment are expected to benefit from this long-term infrastructure push.

Marquee Investors Add Credibility

The participation of renowned investors such as Ashish Kacholia, SageOne, and Pine Oak in the anchor book has drawn attention to the issue. Anchor investments are often viewed by the market as a vote of confidence in a company’s business prospects and management, although they do not guarantee post-listing performance.
